ASUS W2Jb Review July 6, 2006
Posted by flung in : Windows Media Center, HTPC Systems, HTPC Laptops , trackbackPC Magazine has posted a review of the ASUS W2Jb Windows Media Center based laptop here on their website. If you haven’t noticed recently, ASUS has been slowly building a solid notebook/laptop line. The W2Jb is their current high end multimedia notebook featuring Intel’s latest Core Duo processor technology. The notebook has the following features:
- Analog TV tuner
- Bluetooth 2.0 support
- WiFi support
- ATI Mobility Radeon X1600
- FM Radio support
- 17 inch widescreen display
- built in SPDIF connection
- built in subwoofer
- ExpressCard support
- Access to multimedia apps without launching the OS
You’d expect this notebook to weigh a ton but the W2Jb weighs in at a mere 7.9 lbs. Ok.. “a mere” might be stretching it a bit but I’m lugging a 9 lbs 17 inch widescreen myself. Here’s PC Magazine’s verdict on the notebook:
The Asus W2Jb is an elegantly designed Media Center laptop that runs like a desktop with TV recording capabilities. To buy it, though, you’ll have to do a little Web surfing.
