InterVideo Home Theater 2 Review October 2, 2006

OCModShop has posted a review of the InterView Home Theater 2 software package. Home Theater 2 is designed to bring Windows Media Center like functionality to your Windows system without the complexities of having to install MCE (or worry about having the proper MCE certified equipment). Like many home theater PC user interfaces, Home Theater 2 features support for the following:
- Radio tuner support
- TV Tuner support including DVR functionality
- DVD playback support
- Video library management allowing you to watch home movies, videos, capture still images etc
- Music library management support
- Photo library management support
When you take a look at the user interface, you’ll be reminded at how many companies actually try and copy the MCE user interface ( for once.. people are copying something that Microsoft designed. Go figure!).
The package comes with a remote control but you’ll need a TV tuner if you plan on using your system as a DVR. Here’s OCModShop’s verdict on this package:
For $60 this is a good deal, and you can find it cheaper if you don’t need a remote
3 out of 5 stars
