Motherboards.org has posted a review of the ATI TV Wonder 650 PCI card. This is ATI’s latest HDTV add-in card with features such as:
- Schedule, watch, and record analog TV, OTA HDTV, and FM stations
- Advanced 3D comb filter
- Automatic gain control
- Automatic color control
- Edge ehancement
- View or capture analog video through the audio/video input block
- Hardware-based MPEG-2 compression engine
- Built-in DVD decoder
- Supports Windows Media Center 2005
Sounds like a pretty cool card right? Here’s the verdict from Motherboards.com:
… the TV Wonder 650 is an excellent value for the money. If you don’t want the FM Radio or the HDTV functionality ATI has also released a TV Wonder 200 with the Theater 200 chip. This is fine for those wanting an inexpensive TV tuner.
One word of warning - ATI did launch this card over a month ago but they then promptly issued a recall due to a faulty transistor. Check to see when you purchased the card.. if it was when it was released you might want to see if you can have your returned for a new one.
