HP Pavilion dv2000t Review October 8, 2006

I have to admit - the new HP Pavilion dv2000t is one sweet looking Windows Media Center based notebook. This notebook’s got a lot going for it other than looks of course. It weighs a mere 5.2 lbs, comes with an Intel Core Duo 1.8GHz processors, 1/2GB of RAM, 100GB HDD, 8X DVD+/-RW DL drive, 14.1 inch widescreen display (with a 1280 x 800 resolution), ExpressCard slot, 5 in 1 memory card reader, and measures 13.2 inches x 9.3 inches x 1 inch. Graphics consists of the Intel GMA 950 graphics but you can always bring it up a notch by upgrading to an NVIDIA GPU instead. The only real complaint that I would have is the lack of an internal TV tuner. If you want that capability, you’ll need to get an HP ExpressCard analog TV tuner (which does come with a remote control). Without a TV tuner, it’s a bit moot having Windows Media Center installed on the dv2000t if you ask me. Anyhow, here’s the verdict:
All told, we think HP has another hit on its hands with the Pavilion dv2000t. It delivers a sleek design and plenty of performance and features that will suit most home and even small-business needs.
